Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the man with India in his heart, is a true patriot and most selfless player. His patriotism has been shown by him many a times whether it be by spending time in the army camps with the army or by playing not for himself but for the nation. He has always been dedicated and devoted to the game of cricket and Indian cricket team and took the team to the heights of performance and success.

His heroics and struggles are seen by all of us in his Biopic ‘ M. S. Dhoni – The Untold Story ‘. He has done wonders for the team and has a cap full of feathers including 2007 T20 WC, WC2011, Champions Trophy, Asia Cup(twice), IPL(twice), Champions league(twice), Commonwealth series. And a number of match winning performances (As a captian as well as a batsman) where we almost lost hope of winning the match taking it to the last and finishing off in style. Out of around 600 captians of the world, he is the only one to win all the three ICC trophies.

But some heroics done for the nation were usually unobserved.
His devotion is clearly shown as he didn’t even went back home when his daughter was born when he was on a series as for him nation is the first priority.

He has always tried his level best to make the team better and progressive. All the decisions he has made were always for the sake of the team.

His decision of retirement as a test player was a shock for all his fans including me as we thought it was due to some pressure or just because the team wasn’t doing well. He was himself upset and sad but he knew he had to as it was for his nation and its team.

In near past, we saw him coming up the order to bat and giving youngsters the chance as he wanted to make new finishers and middle order batsman before he leaves. He has also made many players what they are today with his motivation and advice.

The latest decision of stepping down as the Captain of shorter formats also is a great shock but with a thought that he would continue to play for the team and with a strong trust on him we can expect this decision to turn out to be for the betterment as it might help Kohli to improve his captaincy skills in shorter formats as well.
In his entire career he had to face criticism  a number of times for his performance and for his decisions but as it is said “Success is the best reply to criticism” his decisions were always proved right with the results and we hope for the best this time also.

On a cold January night, the news story broke.

As I sip my coffee,

Dhoni finishes off in style, one last time” 🙁
